1. This message comes up when I try to run the BCKS Ad Plus software.

This message most often occurs if there is a router or combination modem/router between the computer and the connection to the Internet. See the next topic about methods to handle this.


2. Can I operate from behind a router with a firewall?

Yes, in many cases this is possible. If your internet connection is through a modem then to a router to which more than one computer is connected, these are the typical steps to be taken to allow one of these computer to work. The example here will illustrate these steps with a D-Link DI-524 router.

Use the following address to log into the router from your web browser.

Then sign in with the the user name "admin". No password is required.

On the screen that appears, click on the "Advanced" tab.

Then the "DMZ" button.

Enter the IP address of the computer to placed in the DMZ and then choose "enabled".

There is a second method which also works with the DI-524. This is to click the "Virtual Server" button from the "Advanced" screen and set up a selected computer as a virtual server as shown below. The computer has the same IP address the same as in the prior example of 192.168.0.1.




3. I created a BCKS Ad Plus ad but the link does not work.

If your ad looks like this example with a green link in the title,

but clicking on the green link results in a message like this from Internet Explorer


it generally means that the file became corrupted in your computer. The easiest solution is to delete the current ad and create a new one.


4. I lost my password. How do I get it back?

6. I am using a router which was turned off for a few minutes. Now my BCKS Ad Plus ad links do not work.

Turning the router off and on changes its address on the internet. Exiting the BCKS Ad Plus software and restarting it should solve this problem.
